Observations of the Local Group of Galaxies

TUCANA DWARF

Andrew Murrell observing from Australia using a 20" ƒ/5

I was able to locate the exact position of the galaxy using a copy of an ESO B plate. The stars close to the galaxy were identified and although I was not expecting to see the galaxy I had the impression of a slight brightening of the sky at the galaxies location. This brightening appeared to ahve an even brightness with no condensations. A magnitude star was superimposed over the galaxy which also made the confirmation of this observation difficult. With only one possible sighting of the galaxy I am still dubious of it's authinticity. Has any other southern observer seen this galaxy? If you have please contact me so I can post your observation.
