Observations of the Local Group of Galaxies

AQUARIUS DWARF

Andrew Murrell observing from Australia using a 20" ƒ/5.

The Aquarius dwarf appears as a 1.5' to 2' difuse haze with a very low surface brightness. The edge of the galaxy was difficult to pick from the skybackground. No condensation's were visible. The galaxy definatly showed some elongation. The Aquarius dwarf was framed by 4 stars of 13-14th magnitude. The galaxy can be located 3.5 degrees south of Epsilon Aquarius and 1.5 dergees west of the globular cluster M72.
